Happy New Year AFP Central Virginia!

The AFP Central Virginia Board of Directors looks forward to a great year filled with a variety of opportunities to engage through monthly membership meetings, mentoring and scholarship opportunities, and many more intentional initiatives that will add value to the work you do you every day.

As your 2018 AFP President, I look forward to collaborating with an exceptional team of professionals that will serve as the 2018 Board of Directors. Specifically, I am excited to work alongside Amanda Kennedy, Immediate Past President, and Danielle Ripperton, President-Elect. We are committed to intentional conversations, high quality programming, and opportunities to connect in meaningful ways.

Dec 8 - Director of Development
Join our talented team as we work to inspire and engage the next generation of global leaders from the birthplace of modern day democracy. The Director of Development oversees and manages fundraising for the Presidential Precinct through the identification, cultivation and stewardship of a national portfolio of donors. The Director of Development will develop and implement a fundraising plan that focuses primarily on corporate and foundation support and secondarily on individual major gifts. The Director of Development is accountable for a significant portion of budgeted annual revenues and is a key member of the senior staff, integrally involved with marketing, communications, board relations, and is jointly responsible for the overall organizational health and vibrancy of the Precinct. Nov 28 - Senior Director of Development
The Senior Director of Development is responsible for leading annual support growth for Discovery Place (DP), which includes the management of the fundraising and membership programs. The Senior Director of Development, in tandem with the Chief Advancement Officer, will be responsible for creating a climate of engagement with DP’s external constituencies that will encourage private philanthropy, corporate partnerships and government and foundation investments in support of DP and its programs.
